William Clarence Young, the founder of National Farm Life and Ag Workers Insurance, was born in Weinert, Texas on May 14th.
Young graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in ag economics, married his sweetheart Hazel Boyd, and began teaching vocational agriculture.
After serving in the army for two years, Brigham was honorably discharged and began working on his idea for a unique insurance company that would share its profits with policy owners.
The charter for National Farm Life was granted, and Brigham became one step closer to turning his idea into a reality.
Young founded Ag Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Company and began writing auto insurance policies.
Both companies moved into their first real home office, the North Fort Worth Bank building in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
After years of growth, a 20-acre tract of land was purchased for a new home office and was celebrated with an all-out groundbreaking ceremony, symbolizing the past, present, and future.
